With his continuous over-the-top anti-gay, anti-immigrant, anti-union escapades for the past several years, all pandering to the loony religious right vote, how can anyone claim they were surprised when Metcalfe finally announced a statewide candidacy?

I think Daryl is a coward as well. He kept hidden his intention on running statewide from everyone. Makes an announcement in Harrisburg not his home district because he does not have the balls to face his base.

Daryl Metcalfe is most definitely independent of the party leadership.

Clean Energy Green Energy subsidies are not cost effective and are subsidies to politically active groups. The State is going bankrupt and we do not have the money for more expensive programs that spend more than they produce.

Is this the disrespectful individual who called me and my fellow combat veterans “traitors” for our desire to secure America thru clean energy? And he wants to do WHAT? Take another oath to defend our nation’s and Pennsylvania’s constitutions? He’s a domestic enemy, as far as I’m concerned. We should be embarrassed to have such a “representative” serving.

Mr. Metcalfe is a coward. He did not announce his candidacy for Lt. Governor so that he could also run for State Representative without a primary opponent. If people knew in advance that he was seeking both seats, he would have been exposed and most certainly drawn a primary opponent for his house seat. He knows he has no shot at winning the Lt. Gov. nomination so he needed a fall back position. His statewide candidacy will merely be a fundraising expedition; attempting to raise money from conservatives that are fooled by his diatribes. He was soundly defeated in his attempt to become Appropriation Chairman and thus denied the platform to raise funds and launch his further career. Mr. Metcalfe could learn a lesson in professionalism from individuals such as Mr. Cawley and Mr. Adolph and others he denigrates whom he perceives to be in his path to greatness.

Mr. Metcalfe doesn’t believe in the First Amendment. He called veterans “traitors” for simply voicing their opinion on the necessity for clean energy legislation.
