Jack Wagner’s train tracks
PHILADELPHIA—Auditor General Jack Wagner sure loves his “train-off-the-track” metaphor.
By our estimation, the Democratic candidate for governor has used it well over half-a-dozen times now—certainly at every forum we’ve seen.
He brought out the train again here Thursday evening during a forum at the National Constitution Center. “In Pennsylvania state government, the train is off the track,” Wagner said. “And it needs to be put back on the track through leadership of the next governor.”
We keep forgetting to ask Wagner if he had a train set as a kid.
See video of his closing remarks at the forum below. And for video of all the candidates’ closing remarks, visit the pa2010.com YouTube Channel.

Love that metaphor! The government engine is not working efficiently or effectively. Jack has got the levers and the expertise to get the train back on the track and get government programs working better. And, he has the guts to stand up to anyone — even the big money boys in the room — and he tells them the way it is.
