Chester County Young Democrats Endorse Dan Onorato for Governor
By ONORATO FOR GOVERNOR
CHESTER COUNTY: The Chester County Young Democrats announced their endorsement of Dan Onorato for governor. This is the second major Chester County endorsement for Onorato’s campaign, having won the support of Chester County state Senator Andy Dinniman earlier.
“I am excited to have the support of the Chester County Young Democrats,” said Onorato. “As the father of a college student, I appreciate the issues facing young people across the Commonwealth. As Allegheny County Executive, I worked to help turn around our economy and create good jobs in high-growth industries. As governor, I will maintain that focus on moving Pennsylvania forward in a way that encourages more young people to further their education, build a career and raise a family here.”
“The Chester County Young Democrats offer their endorsement and full support to Dan Onorato,” said Sean McCarson, Treasurer and Spokesman for the CCYD. “We believe Dan has the right experience to lead us during this tough economic climate. Dan is committed to getting Pennsylvanians back to work and increasing transparency in state government.”
Last December, Onorato released his plan to use education as a catalyst for growing the statewide economy by making college more affordable, encouraging more students to major in math and sciences and increase Pennsylvania’s competitiveness with a focus on high-demand and emerging sectors of the economy. As Governor, Onorato will work to make such higher education goals a reality by reforming the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency and increasing accessibility to degree programs for rural areas.
