Carney: Palin is ‘beyond the pale’
With tempers still flying high following the recent enactment of health care reform legislation, Congressman Chris Carney (D-10) says Sarah Palin went too far by using imagery of his district in cross hairs to target him and 19 other House Democrats.
“If this is what Ms. Palin is about, if she is saying we have to reload and put cross hairs on people, that’s beyond the pale,” Carney told a local TV station this week.
His comments came as both parties have traded accusations about who’s to blame for the threats of violence being leveled against members of Congress. Carney and Congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper (D-3) were the two Keystone Staters targeted by Palin last week.
“You can’t vote worried about your career, you have to vote the right way,” Carney said. “You have to vote your conscience and for me this was a vote of conscience.”
Meanwhile, Republican 10th District hopeful Dave Madeira called on Carney to “tone down” his rhetoric, in an echo of Democratic calls for the GOP to do the same.
“Chris Carney is misrepresenting Palin’s traditional American colloquialisms for what purpose?” Madeira said in a statement. “Doesn’t he recognize that he is giving voice to the kinds of misrepresentations that Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other anti-gun legislators use to marginalize those of us who stand for the Second Amendment?”

Carney is a disaster. I sure hope he is renting his home in DC, because I don’t see him staying there much longer.

Mr. Madeira,
Tone down your rhetoric. Chris Carney is a pro-gun Dem. He is an active sportsman and even recently earned “Top Gun” at the Bipartisan Congressional Shoot Out.
You are in fact misrepresenting Congressman Carney by suggesting he does not understand American colloquialisms and with your unfounded attempts to tie him to anti-gun members and Speaker Pelosi.

I guess this is what the Liberals used to “buy” his vote on the disaster that is a “Healthcare” bill that no one I spoken with likes in his district! I give a point to the Liberals on this one – yes they have written him off because he will be voted out in Nov. He respresents the Liberal agenda and not the people of PA-10…..
