By ARLEN SPECTER FOR SENATE

Harrisburg – The Pennsylvania Professional Fire Fighters Association, the state affiliate of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), today announced their endorsement of Senator Arlen Specter.

PPFFA President Art Martynuska expressed his organization’s strong support for the Senator because “Specter has always stood with first responders and they will now stand with him. Senator Specter’s door has been open to us and he has been receptive to our needs in protecting those we are sworn to serve.”

“I’m very grateful that the first responder community has again backed my campaign,” said Specter. The PPFFA, which endorsed Specter in 2004, represents more than 10,000 emergency response personnel across the state. “I’ve worked to take care of the fire fighters because they help keep us safe.”

Specter is a senior member of the Homeland Security sub-committee of the Appropriations Committee.

Last month the Scranton IAFF local #60 and the Northeast PA Professional Fire Fighters backed Specter.
