This week From the Blogs
Welcome to our occasional roundup of the best content offered up by our dynamic and diverse team of bloggers over the previous week.
Enjoy. And always look out for what our resident political junkies and insiders are saying about the news of the day.
Over at Left of Centre, Tammy Alonso had some interesting things to say about the race heating up the 12th Congressional District. She took issue with people declaring their candidacy before her late congressman was even in the ground. And after pa2010.com reported that the state GOP’s process for picking a special-election candidate could quell conservative unrest, she told us to think again.
Michael Livingston at Purple in Pennsylvania also chimed in on the 12th District, saying that “one way or another, the style of politics he brought to the district—gruff, non-ideological, and never far from a hint of corruption—will likely be buried with him.”
Over at The In-Specter, Adam Schwartzbaum lamented the enthusiasm deficit confronting Democrats, which has Republican Pat Toomey beating his Senate rivals among likely voters by larger margins than he wins registered voters as a whole.
And Michael Barley at The PA GOP Pulse assailed Congressman Paul Kanjorski (D-11) for missing meetings of the state’s economic stimulus oversight board, prompting a response from Kanjorski’s campaign spokesman.
Stay tuned for much more next week.
