Full StoryA snowy Lancaster rumor mill
LANCASTER—The Senate candidates tussled. The gubernatorial candidates laid down familiar talking points. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi came to party with her fellow Democrats. All of it happened as mounds of snow were piling up outside, leaving Democratic insiders who hadn’t booked a room at the Lancaster Host Resort here wondering if they could safely leave for the night and still make it back for Saturday’s important business.
Yes, it was a hectic evening at the …

Cong. Sestak again had no answer as to why he’s missed 127 votes this Congress, which has given him the worst attendance record in Pennsylvania’s House Delegation…and the 14th worst in the entire House.
Sestak did acknowledge that the unemployment rate would now be much higher, 13%, without the Economic Recovery program, which of course was made possible by Senator Specter’s key vote and leadership.
Sestak also could not account …

LANCASTER—Good evening, political junkies. I’ve been mulling around the Lancaster Host Resort and Conference Center, where the Democratic State Committee is gathering. Lots of candidates are here, up and down the ballot. I won’t be live-blogging tonight, per se, but wanted to let you know I’ll be sniffing around for what the big stories are.
I must confess to a slight schedule mix-up, which made me miss a forum with Arlen Specter and Joe Sestak—an …
Full StorySpecter Runs Away from Record and Joe Sestak
By SESTAK FOR SENATE
Following tonight’s candidate’s forum in Lancaster, Joe Sestak’s Senate Campaign released the following statement:
“Joe Sestak showed tonight why he is the Senator Pennsylvania needs. We saw a clear contrast between a leader who will lose his job for his principles, and a politician who will lose his principles for his job. Senator Specter ran away from his record just like he ran away from Pat Toomey — and was running …
Full StoryRendell rule-change will make delivering for Specter more difficult
LANCASTER—When state Democratic Party insiders gather here this weekend to consider endorsing statewide candidates, the most interesting question will be whether or not Senator Arlen Specter can win the formal backing of his new party. Gov. Ed Rendell will surely be pushing for his longtime friend.
But about eight years ago, Rendell made the task he and Specter now face harder to achieve. After Bob Casey beat him out for the party’s gubernatorial endorsement in …
