DelCo Dems back Lentz
The Delaware County Democratic Committee endorsed state Representative Bryan Lentz for Congress in the 7th District Tuesday night, further solidifying Lentz’s status as the party’s overwhelming front-runner three months before the primary.
The Lentz campaign said a roll-vote wasn’t needed, with overwhelming support coming in the form of a standing voice vote. Environmental lawyer Gail Conner and political consultant E. Teresa Touey are both running, but neither have been able to gain much traction in their campaigns. Former U.S. Attorney Pat Meehan is the presumptive Republican nominee.
“We are very proud to endorse Bryan because on the issues that matter most to the residents of Delaware County like creating jobs, protecting the environment and keeping our country safe, Bryan is clearly the best candidate,” party vice -chairman Tony Campisi said in a statement. “His experiences as a paratrooper, prosecutor and legislator have made him an independent leader who people know they can count on for results.”

I was there, and I have to give props to the Delco Dems. They were very respectful of Touey and Conner, giving them several bursts of applause for their stands on various issues.
But, Bryan’s the big-dog in the race. I think he had at least as many workers there as Sestak, and it looked like more people had “Lentz” than “Sestak” buttons. So, it was a strong showing for Lentz.

Meehan undoubtedly hopes that Representative Sestak opts to seek re-election in the 7th District. A former U.S. Attorney pitted against a discredited demagogue under investigation by federal authorities. A noted law enforcer vs. a lawbreaker. A victory for Meehan would be all but certain. Lentz will not permit such a scenario to unfold – and Sestak recognizes this. Hence, Sestak will continue his futile efforts to blackmail the Democratic Party and enhance his Legal Defense Fund. He will bring his campaign to a close only when he receives assurances that prominent Dems will intercede on his behalf with the Justice Department. Until then, he thinks, he will continue to masquerade as a legitimate contender. Of course, Sestak is underestimating his foes – as he has a habit of doing.

Go Bryan! We need more Democrats in Congress who believe in raising taxes and increasing government spending, especially in a recession. You’ve shown you support both by your votes in the state House and we know we can count on more of the same in Washington! We need to send more people to support Nancy Pelosi’s agenda in Congress! Run Bryan Run!

Ignoring the rant against Sestak in a story about Lentz being endorsed by the DelCo Dems, I’m glad to see Bryan Lentz is the overwhelming favorite of the county committee and am looking forward to his being the voters pick in November.

Actually, that’s how you get out of a recession, but the tax increase is supposed to be on the rich that got undeserved tax breaks that damaged the economy in the first place.
If you don’t believe me that the stimulus has help, just ask all those Republican congressman who touted the stimulus funds they got in their district with big novelty checks.

David, Lentz voted to increase taxes on the middle class, so that doesn’t fall in line with your tax the rich line. I guess when you live with your parent like you do that doesn’t really matter, huh? And according to a CBS poll last week, only 6 percent of Americans believe the stimulus created jobs. More people believe Elvis is still alive!

Bryan: Mr. Bush adopted and implemented a stimulus package of comparable size toward the end of his term. Yet the economy remained stagnant. Are you prepared to concede that Bush’s effort to revive the economy ALSO failed abysmally? Or are you so blinded by anachronsitic political ideology that you cannot grapple with empirical reality? The economic woes of the present-day U.S. have stubbornly resisted the efforts of both Republicans and Democrats. Stop trying to exploit the misery of the common man for political gain.
And Sestak is not irrelevant here. The contrast is stark. Lentz is an upstanding individual genuinely committed to public service. Sestak is an egomaniac who masturbates to his own image on a daily basis. Stark contrast indeed.

The problem is that if the rich don’t pay their share, the burden falls to the middle class.
What people believe in polls, and what the truth is, rarely coincide. For example only 12% believe they got a tax cut under Obama, when in fact, there were tax breaks for over 90% of the people.
Whether people in polls believe it or not, the consensus opinion among economists is that the stimulus prevented economic collapse and was a success. Part of the problem behind jobs lagging is that people have tightened their belts and are spending less and paying down their credit card debt.
