ChesCo commish endorses Trivedi
Chester County Commissioner Kathi Cozzone backed Manan Trivedi for Congress on Thursday, giving the Reading physician the support of another high-level county Democrat before the local party meets to make an endorsement in the 6th District race this weekend.
“Manan was born and raised in this district, the son of factory workers,” Cozzone said. “He knows what our working families are going through in these tough times,” Cozzone said in a statement. “Southeastern Pennsylovania needs his job-creation plan, which reflects what our community needs to move forward. We need leaders like Manan in Congress and I am proud to endorse him.”
It was the latest in a months-long endorsement battle between Trivedi and former Inquirer editorial writer Doug Pike. The county party is set to make an endorsement in the race on Saturday, in the first of three high-stakes county party endorsement votes.
Lower Merion Township Commissioner Brian Gordon is also running.

Manan Trivedi grew up in Fleetwood, which is in Holden’s District, not the sixth.

TRUE! Here’s my problem, his job creation plan was weak, and rambled about having kids fix school doors. NOT what’s going to creak thousands of jobs in the district. Maybe Kathi didn’t read it.

Doug Pike will carry this nomination. Trivdei, as compelling as his background is, does not have the team, infrastructure, nor funding to run a Congressional race. We all know Trivedi is better for PA-6, but sadly it comes down to the fact that Pike has the best warchest to take on Gerlach.

Prior to the GOP gerrymandering of Berks County, Fleetwood was indeed in the 6th district.
