A fundraising blitz for Specter

A fundraising blitz for Specter

WEST CHESTER—Looking forward to an expensive primary race and possibly an even more expensive general election, Senator Arlen Specter has been working the fundraising junket over the past week, hitting six cities in four states over the last five days.

“We’re facing the need to raise a lot of money because of what’s happening with the Club for Growth and What’s happening with corporations being able to advertise,” Specter told pa2010.com here Saturday.

Specter had just come from Nashville where he had a dinner and cocktails fundraiser on Friday. But his week started Monday with fundraisers in San Diego. He was in San Francisco for fundraisers on Tuesday and in Los Angeles for a fundraiser Wednesday, before a lunch fundraiser Thursday in Las Vegas and another one that evening in Phoenix.

He caught some flak on the blogosphere for being in California early in the week, when most of the state’s political figures were in western Pennsylvania for Congressman John Murtha’s funeral. Specter had more than $8.5 million in campaign cash on hand at the end of last year.

    Karl-
He wouldn’t if Sestak wasn’t going to make him piss away millions for on Primary.

David, Arlen will only get stronger and Sestak will have to lose millions and pride. In the end, Joe Sestak will be mighty pissed..lol

Most of Sestak’s millions are destined for a Legal Defense Fund. Whatever remains will finance the electroconvulsive therapy that Representative Sestak so desperately requires at present.

I see nothing wrong with Specter raising funds from outside the state. It’s not like Sestak hasn’t been raising money from other states too.

I’m sure Sestak would have missed Murtha’s funeral for a fundraiser – if anyone would have held one for him!

    To HateSestak:

You keep mentioning all these FBI investigations and Sestak’s potential need for a Legal Defense Fund. Would you care to elaborate? What knowledge do you have and how did you get it? Is the press sitting on something? I assume you have something as otherwise this would be libelous.Do tell, do tell.

If you’d been following these postings for the last few weeks (like me), you would know that Hater apparently forwarded documentation to both David Diano and Dan Hirschhorn (the editor of this site).

David Diano has posted the allegations on this very site and said they appear credble to him. Also, Dan Hirschhorn has deleted any of Hater’s remarks either.

That should be that Dan Hirschhorn has NOT deleted any of Hater’s remarks. (I should proof read first – these keys are sticking)

    rplinpa and Chesco Dem-

To my understanding, Hater is one of many friends of the Source who has filed allegations with the FBI and OCE against Sestak. Hater has sent both Dan, and then me, scanned copies of the signed/notarized allegations. The charges are VERY serious and ones the FBI/OCE cannot overlook without some form of investigation.

Also, I understand that Dan takes the documents seriously and is actively investigating the claims the current status and trying to interview people that can shed more light: to either confirm or refute.

I think Hater has not been deleted because the documents gave him some credibility and cross a threshold above “fantasy” (as the claims originally seemed).
I think a few profane comments, particularly one about a mirror, have been removed. So, Dan is still exercising editorial control over Hater.

Beyond the documents that Hater has offered, the Source of the material has claimed being in frequent communication with the FBI since May 2009 up until the present time. The exact state of the investigation (and why there haven’t been press reports and arrests) is a matter of some speculation because the FBI can’t directly discuss ongoing matters.
However, based upon the FBI coming back to the Source and asking for more information and the general interaction, the Source is convinced that Sestak will soon feel the long arm of the law and that the other main character in this drama/conspiracy cannot avoid prison.

Personally, I have found the documentation and other information from the Source to be compelling, consistent and well laid out. It appears that a number of reporters believe this story and are being prevented from airing it. It also appears that several campaigns know about this and are keeping it quiet for reasons of political timing or embarrassment.

This will eventually come out. Either this is going to destroy Sestak or the people making the accusations. I don’t think that Sestak is going to survive this.
