Toomey Raises $1.67 Million in Fourth Quarter
By TOOMEY FOR SENATE
Allentown, PA – U.S. Senate candidate Pat Toomey announced today that his campaign has raised over $1.67 million for the fourth quarter of 2009. Since Mr. Toomey’s announcement of his candidacy in April 2009, the campaign has raised $4.9 million from over 30,000 contributors. Mr. Toomey has already doubled the total number of donors amassed during the entirety of his 2004 Senate run.
In addition to a successful fundraising quarter—his best quarter to date—an independent Franklin and Marshall College poll demonstrated today that Mr. Toomey is leading both incumbent Democratic Senator Arlen Specter and Democratic Congressman Joe Sestak in general election matchups. It is clear that Mr. Toomey’s message of fiscal discipline and balance in Washington is resonating with people across Pennsylvania.
“I am honored by the thousands of people who have contributed to my campaign,” Mr. Toomey said. “People all across Pennsylvania are rallying to our message of fiscal responsibility and economic growth. They are growing increasingly frustrated with the extreme, big-government policies coming from Washington and want to see an end to the out-of-control spending, endless bailouts, and backroom deals. Together, I believe we will win the fight for fiscal sanity, responsible government, and economic prosperity.”
