Pat Sellers has a long history on the alternative right, and unless you think Ron Paul Republicans are all stupid, too, that act is going to get pretty tired.

For what it’s worth, I can already identify a number of former Schroder supporters within the Chesco committee that are prepared to support Sellers, including myself.

That is the real story that has yet to be reported. Of course, it’s still developing. And I may just be suffering from a case of selection bias.

Frankly, Welch finds himself in something of a bind, at this point. He was indeed running as a more moderate choice. But now he’s running against an incumbent with a moderate voting record. Conservatives in the GOP that care about the Constitution will be hard-pressed to accept yet another step-back from a candidate who seems to specialize in them.
