Onorato to rack up more endorsements Tuesday
Continuing to build up party support ahead of the May gubernatorial primary, Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato will roll out endorsements from elected officials and other political leaders across the state on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Montgomery County Commissioner Joe Hoeffel snagged an endorsement from his Democratic rival’s home base.
In Allentown and Easton Tuesday afternoon, Onorato’s candidacy will be backed by, among others, Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski, Allentown City Council members Julio Guridy and Ray O’Connell, Easton Mayor Sal Panto and Easton City Council members El Warner and Ken Brown, along with Latino leaders in Allentown and business leaders in both areas.
The latest endorsements come after Onorato’s campaign got a boost last week from Tom Knox, who’s exit from the race removed his most well-funded opponent in the primary.
Pittsburgh City Councilman Bill Peduto will give Hoeffel his support during one of Hoeffel’s three campaign kick-off events on Tuesday.
“Joe Hoeffel is a progressive leader who will fight for Pennsylvania,” Peduto said in a campaign statement. “I am supporting Joe because he understands the challenges facing communities like Pittsburgh, and he isn’t afraid to make the tough decisions to change the direction of our economy for the benefit of working families.”

It’s about time that Hoeffel got an endorement from an elected official or anyone from that matter outside of Montco. Now all he has to do is raise a decent amount of money and put people on the ground in other area’s of the state. I’m not so sure that he is realy a viable canidate. But please by all means advance the progressive agenda, I’m all for checks and balances.

Hoeffel will advance the progressive agenda statewide like he has done successfully in Montgomery County. He’s a liberal and proud of it. He’s not afraid to say what it takes to get elected and then revert to the far left agenda. He is a politician in the Obama mold and will take PA in the same way. Run, Joe, Run! And when you get to be governor, find a job for you partner Jim Matthews, will you? People admire men of principle like Joe and loathe liars, and hypocrites like Matthews.

What do Chris Doherty, Jim Gerlach and Jack Wagner all have in common?
They all raised more money in 2009 than Joe Hoeffel.

Word has it that Onorato does not have enough votes to get state party endorsement for Gov.
And that Rendell and others are trying to cut deals to force it to happen. So much for democracy.
