Onorato says his money edge yields ‘the best campaigners’
PITTSBURGH—With more than $8 million in the bank, Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato has considerably more campaign cash than any of his Democratic rivals for governor. But Onorato said Sunday that raising the money is only half the battle.
“We may have the most money stored right now, but anyone who has run a statewide race will tell you what’s most important is how that money gets spent,” Onorato told pa2010.com after debating his rivals here.
“We are going to use that money to make sure we get the best personnel and the best campaigners out in the field over the next few months,” he added. “This campaign is going to keep visiting all of the Pennsylvania counties, to keep our recognition up.”

“what’s most important is how that money gets spent”
Is that more important than having a good candidate?

No. What is most important is where that money comes from. You tell me who gave him the most and what they get from government in terms of contracts and I will tell you who will benefit the most from his election. That is why the money is important. It is not how much. It is who owns you.
