Holden has almost $700K
Now facing what could be his first competitive election cycle in years, Congressman Tim Holden (D-17) finished 2009 with about $675,000 in campaign cash on hand, according to campaign finance data.
Holden raised only $116,000 during the last three months of the year, reflecting the fact that Republicans didn’t field a top-tier opponent in state Senator Dave Argall (R-Schuylkill) until January. Both Argall and Sheila Dow-Ford, Holden’s newly-declared primary opponent, will file their first campaign finance reports later this year.
Holden dished out about $44,000 during the period, spending on campaign staff and donating cash to various local political party organizations.
