Dems bring in the ‘Game-Changer’

With the recent victories in Virginia, New Jersey and now Massachusetts, you can rest assured that the Obama administration is not taking this quietly. No, the Democrats are not going gently in to that good night. They are working at renewing the luster, passion and deliberate planning that gave Barack Obama his victory just over one year ago.

To that end, the architect of the Obama campaign, David Plouffe, has been called back in to action. For anyone who has no idea who Plouffe is, read the hottest book flying off the shelves called “Game Change” by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann. It is an eye-opener into the campaigns of Obama, John McCain, and how the 2008 election was a “game changer.” It details how shrewd, manipulative, but victorious Plouffe is, and how he positioned and marketed a basically unknown Illinois senator to become leader of the free world.

And Obama has put out an SOS to Plouffe. Since there are numerous Republicans working to take back House seats they lost, as well as many other first-time candidates, Obama realizes there is passion in the GOP and a cohesiveness found in defeating Democrats, especially with the help of the Tea Party movement.

Many voters now have Obama Buyers Remorse, and that is evident by the recent GOP victories.

So what does this mean for Pennsylvania? Well, the rule book for the congressional candidates is no doubt going to be a game changer, and that means the candidates in the 6th, 7th, 8th Districts are going to be involved in campaign strategy, messaging, and meetings the likes of which they have never seen, and it is all because of the game-changer Plouffe (Disclosure: I am working for Mike Fitzpatrick, a Republican running in the 8th District).

I highly recommend all the candidates read “Game Change” with a yellow highlighter and take notes.

It’s a long time until November, and already some of our southeastern congressmen are changing their tune— on the budget, health care, and other issues. They are now flip-flopping because they are seeing the sentiment of the American public, three major Republican victories, and their constituents’ unhappiness with what is going on in Washington. But they want to get reelected. They know if they keep up the old “pass health care now and increase spending” routine, they can start looking for a new line of work.

But now Plouffe is back on the scene.

Now let’s see what happens.
