A brief goodbye from Corbett to Gerlach

Two hours after Jim Gerlach withdrew from the gubernatorial primary against him Thursday, state Attorney General Tom Corbett offered a brief, cordial farewell.

“I have the utmost respect for Congressman Gerlach and his career as a public servant,” Corbett, now the overwhelming favorite for the GOP nomination, said in a statement.

“I wish Jim the best in his future endeavors and look forward to working with him to improve our economic climate, protect taxpayers and make our Commonwealth a better place to live, work and raise a family,” he added.
