Wagner: ‘Not a campaign about money’
NEW YORK—Let’s face it, there’s a prevailing perception in political circles that Auditor General Jack Wagner can’t raise the money to be competitive in his Democratic bid for governor.
Wagner isn’t having it.
“What Pennsylvania needs is somebody who can provide the leadership to reform this government,” Wagner told pa2010.com during a reception for his campaign here Friday evening. “The public’s smart enough to understand that, and they know that I’ve been talking about these issues for a long time.
“This is not a campaign about money,” he added. “This is a campaign about the future of Pennsylvania.”
The fact that he was recently endorsed by a major business PAC, he said, shows that “the business community understands that I know their issues.”

Thanks for sharing Dan!
I must say, out of the candidates and experience being a watch dog for the public trust, Jack Wagner in my opinion is the best candidate.
Wagner ius the large elephant (sorry for lack of a better term) that no one is talking about, and quietly feared. Statewide, hes in my opinion the strongest candidate the dems could mount.
Wagner knows how to reform and will prioritize sending paychecks to workers over paying consultants.

hearing so much about the money raised or that can be raised or spent from the knoxes and onoratos, but very little to no substance. I want to win an election next year, not have the fattest bankroll…wagner is, imho, the only dem who can win. many people think so. what is necessary to run a winning campaign will be there for him!

Dan, read the headlines on the other candidates listed below this latest blog entry. You are obsessing about money along with the reporters and consultants. Wagner is talking about what people want to hear.

Good for Jack. It shouldn’t be about who can raise the most money. Jack has a solid record of being a true public servant and a broad understanding of the issues facing Pennsylvania. It’s refreshing to see a candidate who’s not obsessed with fundraising.

Spending 21 years of life around someone lets you really get to know them along with there views, morals, and what they stand for and believe in and i can tell you you first hand money has never played a roll in my dads life other than providing for his family and making sure Pennsylvania’s tax payers dollars are not wasted and are used in the most responsible fashion only to help our state where it needs it. Now more than ever we need government to cut down on spending and pinch our pennies. For this upcoming Gubernatorial election My dad prides himself on this past auditor general re-election where he received 3,336,219 (59.0%) which cannot be ignored.
