Of course these numbers are pretty irrelevant- once the primary is over, the winner will shift to the center and we’ll be talking about an entirely different game.

Funny stuff.
But, back to reality.
Rasmussen is consistently biased, and in some cases it’s practically generating propaganda to influence opinion.
With its bias, the shift against Sestak must now be too big to cover up. Making Sestak appear viable fits Toomey’s strategy of using Sestak to weaken Specter.
Rasmussen is a biased outlier. However, knowing that, I can adjust their results toward the direction of the better polls.

Sestak’s been ignoring ALL the other polling showing him trailing Specter by double digits and quoting only Rasmussen’s previous 4-point gap. Now, that gap is 13 and Sestak can’t get away with claiming 4-points.

Not over the top…the man is old. He’s going to be 80 in Feb. His time is coming soon. I didn’t say that i wish he would die, but his age matters. Do we really want an 86 year old Senator? You can already see the onset of dementia…he frequently forgets what positions he had on issues just months ago and no longer remembers what party he belongs to. By the way he’s running his campaign he must think he’s running for Mayor of San Fran, because he’s been way too far left to win in PA.

comment. A little “fringe” i must say. If David’s comments and analysis of polling is making you go over the top, then im not sure what a Pat Toomey loss in November would do.

What’s the point of even commenting on this when you’ve said many times that you refuse to believe any polls coming out of rasmussen that show specter behind. They’re conservative, and when quinnipiac shows the same thing, they’re conservative…in fact, all polls that show specter with horrific numbers are conservative. In your world everyone loves Specter and he’ll get reelected with 99% of the vote. Maybe when the old man finally kicks the bucket we’ll honor him by renaming the state Spectervania. He’s earned that, right?

Kevin-
Specter’s busting his @ss on health care. I’m actually amazed/impressed by how much he’s done.

EFCA’s on the back burner. It doesn’t do a lot of good if there aren’t any jobs.

My understanding is that Specter is for EFCA, but the original card-check option needs some tweaking because too many Dem Senators are against it. There’s a compromise version (which is in the House) that resolves the objections to card-check but achieves the same goals.

Specter has made a lot of promises so far and it will be interesting to see if he keeps them. Wasn’t labor promised EFCA by the end of the year? Didn’t he promise 60 votes on a public option (including some Republicans)?

Toomey’s getting a free ride as Specter and Sestak compete. Toomey is still largely unknown, and his extreme right-wing views have yet to be exposed.

2010 elections will hinge on how jobs and the economy are doing next fall. Since the Dems voted for the stimulus and the GOP opposed it, 2010 will be a referendum on that plan and whether it saved the economy.
