Frank not swayed by Obama’s ‘calculation’

PHILADELPHIA—In becoming the first current member of Congress to break with President Obama and endorse Joe Sestak’s Senate bid against Arlen Specter Monday, Barney Frank made an argument that Sestak’s campaign can only hope will be echoed by others.

And with the White House, Gov. Ed Rendell and much of the party establishment backing Specter, Frank’s argument echoed points Sestak himself has made.

“I understand the political calculations of the President and the need to get the 60 votes,” Frank said during an appearance here. “And I don’t criticize him for that, but it doesn’t bind the rest of us.”

Getting an endorsement from Barney Frank is not going to help Sestak.

“Frank’s argument echoed points Sestak himself has made”
Likely, Frank was given those talking points and asked to turn them into a silk purse.

    Oink.

Barney Frank is an embarrassing dope although i love to watch him. Not much political muscle in PA there. If anything… it helps specter. Seems like sestak is scambling a bit after a write up on how specter has taken the lead over Sestak, the hawk w progressives.
