Final observations from the Pa. Society weekend

Even though former Senator Rick Santorum wasn’t in New York, he was definitely a topic of conversation—will he or won’t he run for president?

Former congressman Mike Fitzpatrick, who lost by less than 1,000 votes to Patrick Murphy in 2006, looks like he is ready for the next battle. He is in fighting shape, and even though he hasn’t said anything about anything, to the uninitiated it looked like he was holding court in the lobby of the Waldorf. Everyone was so glad to see this man whose blood runs thick with love for Bucks County. He may have been out of the circuit for a bit, but you would never know it.

Going in to the Buchanan Ingersoll reception, Senator Arlen Specter and wife, Joan were turning the corner. Standing at the corner was a well-known Harrisburg attorney and a cute, red-head Harrisburg GOP staffer. She obviously was good friends with Senator Specter.  She grabbed his arm and jokingly said, “Come back, please come back.” We all laughed.
