Dent: Callahan is ‘our target’
NEW YORK—Democrats have made no secret of their burning desire to unseat Congressman Charlie Dent (R-15), with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee signaling that the Lehigh Valley representative is one of their top targets. They even brought in the White House to prod Bethlehem Mayor John Callahan into the race.
But Dent says he’s ready.
“I look forward ot this challenge against Mayor Callahan, who has a record that’s easily exploitable,” Dent told pa2010.com during his reception here Saturday afternoon. “He’s our target.”

Charlie Dent’s record is pretty well exploitable, too. Despite his championing hydrogen fuel as the way of the future for autos in the U.S. his record on environmental issues is pretty dismal and his recent vote of opposition to the wall Street reform bill shows us all that he is more interested in helping corporations to feed at the public trough than to support reforms that might keep them off the public dole through bailouts by the government.
Go Towne!

Look for Dent and Callahan to face a spirited challenge from Jake Towne, an independent with ideas that don’t sound stale like the Reps or Dems

Dent is going negative and starting his campaign really early. He’s obviously afraid. Callahan is smart not to get pulled down in the muck yet. It’s definitely not to his advantage.

The 15th district can’t afford Dent or Callahan. The 15th needs Jake Towne as it’s next Representative. http://www.towneforcongress.com

Callahan isn’t even seriously campaigning.
This is to his detriment not only as a candidate, but as a decent human being. Any idea on where he stands on Afghanistan and Iraq? Anyone?
At least we know where Dent stands – he doesn’t want to leave until the 100,000 troops find the cave where Osama is. At least we know where this independent, Towne, stands – leave immediately and pursue Osama with small teams. Much more cost effective.

By attacking Callahan this early, Dent just admits what we already know….Callahan is going to be a formidable foe. Dent better be on his game, or Callahan is going to surely take his seat

In response to Ed H.,
Yes, Dent’s record is very exploitable, but not for the reasons you suggest.
Dent’s vote AGAINST the financial reform and regulatory package was one of the only things I’ve agreed w/Dent on this year. The regulatory package GIVES MORE POWER TO THE FEDERAL RESERVE. If you support this, you’d gotta be insane, or a banker who benefits from the Fed.
Dent’s vote for Wall Street last October is exploitable. his continuation of support for massive spending and debt is exploitable. His disdain for the Constitution is exploitable. Dent has been a total RINO.
I noticed the third party candidate getting more attention. Jake Towne really has some good views. At least he understands economics and he doesn’t seem like a politician. You want small government, consider Towne.
