Barletta to decide on congressional run next week
By this time next week, we should know whether or not Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta will make a third run in the 11th Congressional District.
Responding to a flurry of inquiries, Barletta’s senior political adviser e-mailed reporters to say an announcement would come next Wednesday. He did not hint at which way Barletta, who narrowly lost to incumbent Democrat Paul Kanjorski last year, is leaning.
“This is an [important] decision and Mayor Barletta is giving it the strong consideration it deserves,” adviser Vince Galko wrote. “As he has said many times, Mayor Barletta is focused on the City of Hazleton and its budget. He also working on some very exciting projects for the city. Mayor Lou Barletta will announce his decision on whether to run or not run for Congress in 2010 a week from today on Wednesday, December 9th.”
Barletta has recently been working to retire about $250,000 in campaign debt from his earlier races against Kanjorski, in 2002 and 2008. If he runs again, he will face Republican Chris Paige in next year’s primary.

Kanjorski is going to get nailed for not supporting Obama enough from O’brien in the primary and then in the general election he gets nailed for supporting Obama period !!!

Other than stiffing taxpayers with a $2 million legal bill for pushing a mean-spirited and xenophobic anti-immigration ordinance in Hazleton, Lou Barletta has done very little. It still boggles the mind how he would completely disregard taxpayers’ interest and put divisiveness ahead of practicality. It’s not something you want in an any elected official.

Abe, Please learn the facts and think for yourself instead of repeating talking points. The lawsuite didn’t cost taxpayers a penny. Mayor Barletta created a legal defense fund http://www.smalltowndefenders.com. It has rasied hundreds of thousands of dollars from all over the country.

Nothing like the convenience of ignorance to get in the way of simple facts! Abe may want to read more than one set of talking points before opening his mouth. How that go “better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than…..”
