Jefferson County Dem endorses Wagner

As he seeks to build Democratic support in what remains a wide open gubernatorial primary, state Auditor General Jack Wagner’s campaign announced Monday that it had won the backing of Jefferson County Democratic leader Lugene Inzana.

“I back Jack because he’ll continue to fight for the interests of Pennsylvania families and taxpayers,” Inzana, chair of the county’s Democratic Committee, said in a statement. “Jack’s been an outstanding Auditor General and he’ll make a great Governor.”

The endorsement came after Wagner got the support of party leaders in Lebanon and Clarion counties.

He faces Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato, Scranton Mayor Chris Doherty, Montgomery County Commissioner Joe Hoeffel and Philadelphia businessman Tom Knox in next year’s Democratic primary.
