Gerlach welcomes Rohrer to the race

Gerlach welcomes Rohrer to the race

Even before state Representative Sam Rohrer (R-Berks) kicked off his campaign for governor Tuesday night, Congressman Jim Gerlach’s campaign had already chimed in to welcome its newest opponent.

“We have said all along that rank-and-file Republican voters deserve a fair, open and competitive process that gives people a choice,” campaign manager Scott Migli said in a statement. “As voters come to know the candidates for Governor, they’ll find that Congressman Jim Gerlach’s record of creating jobs, cutting taxes, tackling welfare reform and identifying hundreds of millions of dollars in government waste, will resonate deepest with Republicans all across Pennsylvania. In fact, the chairman of the state Democratic Party said on Monday that Democrats are ‘more afraid of running against Jim Gerlach’ because of his strong record on issues and ability to win despite overwhelming odds. With anywhere from 50 to 75 percent of Republican Primary voters undecided in the race for Governor in recent statewide polls, party leaders would do a great disservice by forcing an endorsement of one candidate over another. We look forward to a robust debate on the issues.”

There was no immediate reaction from Attorney General Tom Corbett’s campaign.

Nobody is afriad of Gerlach. Democrats make statements like that to influence people to vote for a weaker candidate. It would be like telling people that you are more afriad of playing agianst Boise St. compared to Florida in the bcs championship.

Yeah, not a good comparison. It would be like saying you are more afraid of playing Florida International compared to Florida this weekend or Chattanooga over Bama. All comparisons aside, it is pretty obvious that the ticket is going to be Corbett-Aichele.

Corbett/Aichele – hahahaha – Aichele has a great tax record and has little to no charisma like the guy. That ticket gets killed in the fall. Dems are right, Gerlach has a great record on the issues that matter to voters, there is a long way to go
