Trivedi says he’s raised $110K in 3 weeks

Trivedi says he’s raised $110K in 3 weeks

Democratic Congressional candidate Manan Trivedi said Thursday that his campaign had garnered significant financial support early, raising about $110,000 in just over three weeks.

The number pales in comparison to the amounts raised so far by 6th District primary opponent Doug Pike. But with Pike spending heavily from his own wallet and Trivedi having only entered the race last month, the fundraising haul is the first sign that Trivedi could be a financially viable candidate.

“I always knew that this campaign was going to be tough,” Trivedi said in a statement. “Since I do not have the personal financial resources to fund an effort like this, I knew that I would have to rely on contributions from longtime friends and members of our community who share my passion for progressive change.”

The third quarter of FEC filing closed Wednesday night, and reports are expected to be published online in a couple weeks.

Please…Trivedi stinks. I met him once, and he’s the worst.

“raising about $110,000 in just over three weeks.”

    … and that’s just from table dancing…

    :-)

    Good luck to both candidates.

While I appreciate the humor of a series of not-too-seriously-impersonated Eldridge-Martin comments considering the recent news http://www.pa2010.com/2009/09/pike-campaign-chief-called-out-for-online-comments, let’s take it easy and keep it civil.

    Let’s keep it substantive.

It’s interesting that they mention Pike has raised more. From what I hear he’s only raised around $100k and donated $500k to his own campaign. Correct me if I’m wrong on this one though. We need the facts set straight!

Manan has a good story and is very impressive-a masters in Health Policy, serving in Iraq, a primary care physician-all very impressive. Pike is a lackluster candidate, and has a very weak resume compared to Trevidi-the money will follow when people focus on the race. It is still early except for those of us who love the political game. Pike tries to hide the truth about his fundraising and his support-Trevidi is open and transparent-who would you rather have as your representative??!!
