CAMPAIGN FINANCE LEFTOVERS: Dahlkemper, Murphy, Schwartz & Thompson

In the hustle and bustle of covering third quarter campaign finance reports, we missed a handful of them.

So here’s a quick rundown of the fundraising hauls reported by incumbents from both parties.

Freshman Congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper raised about $180,000, finishing the quarter with almost $544,000 in cash on hand. Her campaign still has more than $50,000 in debt, most from loans made by the candidate.

Sophomore Congressman Patrick Murphy (D-8) made some more headway in rebuilding a campaign war chest that was largely depleted after he spent heavily in the closing weeks before last year’s election, raising about $308,000. He’s raised about $1.1 million during the cycle and has about $620,000 on hand.

Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz (D-13) raised about $231,000, and has almost $2.6 million on hand, a sum that eclipses Republican opponent Damian Dachowski’s war chest more than 100 times over.

And freshman Congressman Glenn Thompson (R-5) raised $132,000. He has about $200,000 on hand.

It is so amazing that Allyson Schwartz has time to fundraise from her special interests groups, however, she is not doing what her constiuents pay her to do, like fix unemployement, corruption in Washington, lowering taxes. Her failed Healthcare will hurt all Pennsylvanians. It is not about how much money you have in your War Chest, it’s all about character. It is about having Townhall meetings to represent the people that put you there in Washington. 54% of Americans oppose healthcare. Wake -up.

Agreed. Congressional Candidate Damian Dachowski held a healthcare town hall this summer because she didn’t. Visit his site to see video and read about his health care solutions.

He has character and wants to be our voice. If every individual who feels as you do, gave $10 to his campaign we could challenge the special interest groups with an effective and efficient grass roots effort.

    We can’t let this continue!

I am sick and tired of calling, faxing and emailing Rep. Schwartz to express my opinion as a business owner and talking with staffers who have no training, concern, compassion or knowledge. Then getting know reply or courtesy. As a business owner I asked if Schwartz was going to come to my office and address the workers whom I will have to let go because they instituted cap and tax, gov’t run health and many other additional taxes? Or was she going to be a no show rep like she was at the break townhall meeting held by Damian Dachowski who is running for congress.
I believe that with the Schwartz situation she truly has not represented our district, but rather has represented her own and special interests who have garnered favor with her votes by giving her millions from k street.
I personally have given to Damian’s campaign after I asked him if he would vote the way that the majority of his constituents would want him to. And he agreed he would carry our voice and vote to Washington to represent hard working Americans.
I would ask that anyone who is not happy – that they would look at Damian’s site and then decide for themselves. If you agree send at least $25 to his campaign so that we might send the carpetbagging Schwartz back to her out of the 13th district home for good!
