A mish-mash of campaign finance data
Tomorrow is the big campaign finance day, and we’re going to be handling it a little bit differently than we did last quarter. More on that later.
In the meantime, here’s a collection of campaign finance data that’s already been published online. It comes from races across the state, mostly the less competitive ones that we haven’t been covering as closely.
Stay tuned for more info about the big stuff. But for now, enjoy this.
In the 12th District, Democratic incumbent John Murtha raised almost $290,000, finishing with about $445,000 on hand. Nothing yet from Republican challenger Bill Russell.
In the 16th District, incumbent Republican Joe Pitts raised only $67,000, and has $181,000 in the bank. It’s a strong GOP district, and Democrat Lois Herr is looking to change that. She’s off to a relatively decent start, having raised $76,000 during the cycle, about $32,000 of it last quarter. But she’s only got about $28,000 on hand.
Republican Frank Ryan has been working hard to unseat Democratic incumbent Tim Holden in the 17th District, but he’d got loads of work to do in the money game. While Holden has over $600,000 on hand, Ryan’s got less than $36,000.
Republican Damian Dachowski has about $23,000 on hand in the 13th District. He’ll need more than that to seriously challenge incumbent Democrat Allyson Schwartz, whose report hadn’t been published yet Wednesday afternoon.
And then there are the incumbents who are, shall we say, much less than vulnerable.
Bob Brady has about $621,000 in the 1st District. Mike Doyle has more than $400,000 in the 14th District. Tim Murphy has about $411,000 in the 18th District. And Bill Shuster has a bit more than $100,000 in the 9th District.
Much more to come.
