Yet another Republican eyes Lt. Gov. race

A Pennsylvania Army National Guardsman says he plans to toss his hat into the increasingly crowded ring that is the GOP primary for Lieutenant Governor.

Robert Allen Mansfield said in a statement late Monday night that he would be forming a political action committee for the race soon. In a statement, he said that “Pennsylvania needs to operate their budget process as a business. I will spearhead total accountability, for State agencies, and deliver a program of complete transparency.”

Mansfield, a Philadelphia native, served a tour in Iraq from 2006-2007. His statement said is currently the CEO of Meredith Capital, a financial services company.

He also worked for state Representative W. Curtis Thomas (D-Philadelphia) in the early 1990s.

Numerous Republicans are running for the chance to join the party’s gubernatorial nominee on the ticket.
