U.S. Ambassador David Girard-diCarlo Joins Corbett Campaign
By TOM CORBETT FOR GOVERNOR
HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett announced today that former U.S. Ambassador to Austria David Girard-diCarlo has endorsed his campaign for Governor of Pennsylvania and has agreed to serve as National Finance Chairman for the campaign.
“I am honored to receive the support of Ambassador David Girard-diCarlo. David has a great track record with numerous state and national Republican campaigns and is well respected in the legal and business communities, not only in Pennsylvania, but throughout the United States,” stated Tom Corbett. “I look forward to having David as a partner and advisor in this campaign.”
Prior to his appointment as U.S. Ambassador to Austria, Girard-diCarlo served as Pennsylvania Finance Chairman for McCain for President, co-chairman of the Pennsylvania Bush-Cheney ’04 Campaign, Pennsylvania State Chairman of the Bush-Cheney 2000 Campaign and the Treasurer for the Ridge for Governor Committee and chairman of the Governor’s Transition Team.
The announcement comes less than a week after the popular former U.S. Attorney and Delaware County District Attorney Pat Meehan endorsed Tom Corbett to become Pennsylvania’s next governor.
Girard-diCarlo joins the Corbett for Governor Exploratory Committee that already includes General Co-Chairmen Robert Asher and Jack Barbour, Co-Finance Chairs Christine Toretti and C. Alan Walker, Tom Corbett for Governor Political Action Committee Chair William Sasso and Honorary Chairwoman, the Honorable Sandra Schultz Newman.
