Toomey Campaign Unveils Petition Telling Specter to End Bailout Funding

Allentown, PA – Today, the Toomey campaign unveiled a petition urging Arlen Specter to end bailout funding. The petition can be found at www.toomeyforsenate.com.

Last week, Senator Specter voted against an amendment that would have prohibited the government from extending the TARP bailout program past December 31, 2009 (RC #267, 08/06/09). The $1 trillion bailout program is an unfair use of taxpayer dollars that rewards irresponsible companies and penalizes responsible and successful businesses.

This petition will allow taxpayers to make their voices heard and send Sen. Specter a strong message about the need for fiscal responsibility in Washington.
