State Attorney General Tom Corbett’s exploratory gubernatorial campaign announced Wednesday night that a former top fundraiser for John McCain and George W. Bush would be its national finance chairman.
David Girard-diCarlo, who is also the former United State ambassador to Austria, was state finance chair for McCain’s presidential campaign, co-chaired the Pennsylvania Bush-Cheney reelection campaign in 2004 and also worked for former Gov. Tom Ridge’s campaign.

Congressman Jim Gerlach’s (R-6) campaign on Wednesday attacked state Attorrney General Tom Corbett over his corruption investigation and simultaneous, but undeclared, gubernatorial bid, saying that “Pennsylvanians deserve to know whether [Corbett] is more interested in pursuing justice or advancing his political career.”
