U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy Endorses Doug Pike for Congress
By PIKE FOR CONGRESS
Ardmore, PA-Today, Pike for Congress announced that U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-PA) endorsed Doug Pike in the race for the 6th Congressional District.
“We need more leaders like Doug Pike to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with us in Congress to create jobs, get our economy going again, and get our fiscal house back in order,” said Rep. Murphy. “In 14 years at The Philadelphia Inquirer, Doug Pike was a thoughtful advocate for common sense solutions. Doug is not a career politician. He understands the challenges working families face every single day and he listens to people. He will make an outstanding member of Congress.”
“It is an incredible honor to have the support of Congressman Patrick Murphy, a true leader and champion for the people Pennsylvania,” said Doug Pike, the Democratic Candidate for U.S. House in Pennsylvania’s 6th District. “When I get to Washington, I look forward to fighting for good jobs, a strong economy, and common sense, fiscally-sound public policy.”
Doug Pike served on the Editorial Board of The Philadelphia Inquirer for 14 years and he served as the chairman of the board at a hospital and nursing care facility for 10 years. Previously, Pike served as a Special Assistant and Speechwriter for U.S. Senator Paul Tsongas. In 1971, Pike graduated with honors from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. He lives in Lower Merion Township in Montgomery County.
The 6th District encompasses parts of Berks, Chester, Lehigh, and Montgomery Counties.
