By PIKE FOR CONGRESS
Ardmore, PA — Today, Pike for Congress announced that U.S. Rep. Chaka Fattah (D-PA) endorsed Doug Pike in the race for the 6th Congressional District.
“For 14 years, Doug Pike has been a common sense advocate for change in Southeastern Pennsylvania,” said Rep. Fattah. “In the face of economic crisis, Pennsylvania’s families need real leadership to create good jobs, innovative investment in education, and health care reform. Doug will be an outstanding Congressman for Southeastern Pennsylvania.”
“It is a special honor to have the support of Congressman Chaka Fattah, who has been such a strong advocate for Pennsylvania’s families and students,” said Doug Pike, the Democratic candidate for U.S. House in Pennsylvania’s 6th District. “When I get to Washington, I look forward to working closely with him to create jobs, invest in education, and bring affordable, quality health care to all Americans.”
Rep. Fattah represents Pennsylvania’s 2nd Congressional District, which includes parts of Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties.
Doug Pike served on the Editorial Board of The Philadelphia Inquirer for 14 years and he served as the chairman of the board at a hospital and nursing care facility for 10 years. Previously, Pike served as a Special Assistant and Speechwriter for U.S. Senator Paul Tsongas. In 1971, Pike graduated with honors from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. He lives in Lower Merion Township in Montgomery County.
The 6th District encompasses parts of Berks, Chester, Lehigh, and Montgomery Counties.
