Republicans using new technologies to push fiscally responsible messages
Over the last few months we have seen a number of successful Republican-created Web ads pushing fiscally responsible messages on both the state and national level. This week, the Republican National Committee honored 28-year-old Matthias Shapiro of Utah with the “Grassroots Logic Award” for creating the widely popular video entitled “10,000 pennies,” which mocked Obama’s measly $100 million budget cuts in comparison to the $3.5 trillion budget. If you haven’t seen this video, be sure to take a few minutes and watch it!
Meanwhile, state House Republicans have created a new Web video, entitled “Rendell’s Bad Math,” which does a great job showing us of teaching us “Rendell Math,” by walking us through the Governor’s proposed budget CUTS that actually INCREASE the size of the budget.
At the Pennsylvania GOP, we have also been working to keep the pressure on Gov. Rendell and House Democrats by releasing a series of Web ads. Our latest ad, “$500,” serves as a message to the Governor and his Democrat cronies that hardworking Pennsylvanians just cannot afford a tax increase during these tough economic times.
Using new technologies to spread our Party’s messages is critical and I am encouraged by the strides the Republican Party is making in this area, especially in Pennsylvania. Expect to see more of these technologies being utilized as we work to elect a new Republican U.S. Senator and Governor, Republican Congressmen, maintain our majority in the State Senate and win back majority control of the State House in 2010.

It’s hardly a tax increase when you can write it off on your federal tax return. Even if you don’t itemize, would you rather have your PIT go up a few hundred for three years or see your property taxes increase even more?
Rendell is proposing a budget that maintains vital services without passing the buck. When did the GOP become the Party of Buck Passing?

Wow – and the video you posted requires comments to be approved. I’m glad to see the PA GOP is all about encouraging discourse. I also didn’t see PA GOP anywhere, not interested in being affiliated with your own work? Then again, what can you expect from the party that released a press release accusing Obama of palling around with terrorists?
In response to the video “$500″:
Your math is naive at best and deceptive at worst.
1. You don’t take into account inflation.
2. More people are on unemployment.
3. More people are eligible for medical assistance.
Why is it that every budget season the PA GOP completely forgets about inflation and property taxes?

And yet another post – I should note that I was in error, I was referencing “Rendell’s Bad Math” and not the PA GOP ad “$500.”

Hopefully the GOP can also find candidates that use the New Technologies to get sensible solutions out there…heres one guy that uses it very well, has a Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin Page and does great stumping for the GOP. Rumor has it he wants to run for office in Pa. Anybody call him??
