Report: Orie mulling Senate run
State Senator Jane Orie (R-Allegheny) is considering a bid for the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate, a development that could potentially halt Pat Toomey’s hopes of walking away with the nomination uncontested, PoliticsPA reports.
Orie, whose name had been floated as a possible challenger to Senator Arlen Specter before he switched parties, has been mostly quiet about the race. She didn’t immediately return a message from pa2010.com to confirm or deny recent rumors of her interest. But PoliticsPA reports that she was recently in Washington to meet with the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
Toomey has been building GOP support without another viable candidate in the race, but if Orie jumped in, it would surely change the complexion.
“She’d be a great candidate,” state GOP Chairman Rob Gleason said yesterday.

Just one thought on Jane Orie:
1- For the love of god, if she decides to run, please go easy on the lip stick and eye shadow.

One wonders if this gives Meehan a clearer sense of the possible if he switched to a Senate or Congressional run. Should Sestak take Specter out, which is likely if Sestak mounts a serious, base driven campaign, how does Meehan not think about going after the guy who could potentially take down his Political Godfather? Or at least take that persons Congressional seat away should Sestak fail in the task of running for Senate?? Either way, Meehan positions well for the Congressional or Senate as the party is not fully on board with Toomey and would LOVE to get the current Sestak seat back in the R column.
