Rendell: Onorato is ‘probably our next governor’

Rendell: Onorato is ‘probably our next governor’

In the midst of once again discouraging Congressman Joe Sestak (D-7) from his all-but-certain run against Senator Arlen Specter, Gov. Ed Rendell on Monday let a not-so-small political prediction slip: He thinks Dan Onorato will be the Keystone State’s next governor.

Rendell, speaking on Bill Press’ radio show, was listing the many Democratic establishment figures who he said are supporting Specter in next year’s primary. Some of the names he dropped haven’t publicly endorsed Specter,…

Joe Sestak Joins Pennsylvania Mayors in Calling on Arlen Specter to Defend the Commonwealth’s Concealed Gun Laws

By JOE SESTAK FOR CONGRESS

Today, Congressman Joe Sestak joined with more than 100 Pennsylvania mayors in calling on Senator Arlen Specter to reject legislation that would weaken Pennsylvania’s regulations on carrying concealed weapons.

In the op-ed Sestak calls the policy a “flawed compromise that should never have been enacted,” arguing that skilled soldiers are essential…

An occasional series of articles exploring how political campaigns are playing out in the media.

Pennsylvania, meet Joe Sestak.

Really, you don’t have much of a choice. If you live in any of the Keystone State’s 67 counties and even glance at a local newspaper, the Delaware County Congressman’s name and face are bound to catch your eye. If they haven’t already.

That’s because for the last three weeks, Sestak has been crisscrossing the state…

Pike gave his campaign more than half-a-million dollars

Allies of Democrat Doug Pike have touted the large fundraising haul he had during the second quarter, when he netted more than $660,000 in contributions.

What they didn’t note was that the vast majority of that money came from the candidate himself.

Pike, whose financial wherewithal was cited by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee when it noted his prowess this spring, gave his own campaign $510,000, according to
