Altmire has more than half-a-million on hand
As a sophomore Democrat representing the historically conservative 4th District, Congressman Jason Altmire continues to raise money at an impressive clip in his efforts to hold the seat he captured in 2006.
Altmire raised more than $430,000 over the last three months, finishing the second quarter with more than $535,000 in cash on hand, according to campaign finance data. He has raised almost $675,000 since winning reelection last year. After Altmire beat Melissa Hart twice, the GOP is reportedly looking to state Representative Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) to run against him next year, though Turzai has not signaled if he’ll run.
The Congressman spent about $117,000 during the period, much of it on payroll and event costs. His campaign also spent more than $18,000 on fundraising consulting services from Washington-based Sutter’s Mill Fundraising and Strategy.
His donors ran the gamut from doctors, lawyers and energy executives to a $500 contribution from longtime Democratic political consultant Larry Ceisler. Click here to view Altmire’s campaign finance report.
