The card-check poll

The fact a majority of Pennsylvanians oppose the Employee Free Choice Act is interesting, but is it relevant? In a Sestak-Specter primary on the Democratic ballot, the party extremists who generally vote in primaries will vote against Specter. The poll may prove to be an advantage for Specter in November’s general election, but in an extremist primary, it is Specter’s position that counts.

Also, I have heard complaining about the questioning. Although I would say no to EFCA, I’m not voting in the Democratic primary for more reasons than I can count. Neither are a majority of Pennsylvanians. In a primary, it is the number of Democrats that said yes that counts. That was clearly a majority, and regardless of that majorities size, that is what counts for now. If Specter survives (which I think he will), it becomes relevant. Right now, it is just another interesting tidbit in a large election season.
