Specter Announces Formation of Statewide Advisory Committee
By ARLEN SPECTER FOR SENATE
Harrisburg — Senator Arlen Specter announced the formation of his Statewide Advisory Committee to assist in his campaign for the 2010 Democratic nomination to the U.S. Senate.
The 40 individuals announced today — including State Democratic Party Officials, State Legislators, Democratic County Chairs and Democratic State Committee members from every corner of the Commonwealth — are offering their endorsement, knowledge and experience to help Senator Specter in his quest for the Democratic nomination.
The formation of the Advisory Committee comes after the very favorable reception given Senator Specter during the Democratic State Committee meeting earlier this month. At that event, he spoke with hundreds of the Party faithful and outlined his reasons for coming back to the Democratic Party.
“I am very pleased to accept the endorsement and assistance of these fine officials as I go through the process of earning the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate,” Specter said. “I do not take the nomination for granted and am happy to learn from these experienced State Democratic leaders.”
South Central Democratic Caucus Chair Peggy Grove stated, “I am proud to be supporting Senator Arlen Specter. He has been a leader in Pennsylvania for decades on important issues, and on behalf of all of the Advisory Committee members I am happy that he has come back to his Democratic roots.”

Dear Senator, I am writing to let you know that I am for less taxes and smaller government. I am for less intrusion into my life. I am also writing to let you know that I do not want you or your fellow politicians treating my taxes as your own personal ATM. Please! Stop and think what you are doing to this country. Already a 2 trillion deficit heading for 11 trillion. Voting for bills without reading it. What is the hurry? I am afraid you are changing this country permanently. Please stop spending. You will see alot of new faces next November.
