Now here’s a Web site I can dig
A group of progressive organizations have come together to launch Specter Scorecard, a Web site promising to keep us informed about “key upcoming votes where Sen. Specter’s vote will be vital to the success of the progressive position” and to display a “progressive batting average” that tracks how Specter’s votes on these important issues. Specter’s average currently stands at .500, but that could quickly change with a string of upcoming votes on healthcare and card-check. Earlier, pa2010.com highlighted the increased scrutiny being placed on Specter’s voting record, and Web sites like this will serve to only amplify those votes and help crystallize the debate over Specter’s Democratic chops. The site launch comes at the heels of recent noises made by Joe Sestak that he is likely jumping into this primary, so it will be interesting to see how progressive groups and the Sestak campaign use resources like this new website to attack Specter for any less-than-liberal positions he might take in the coming months.
