DCCC Targets Representative Charlie Dent with Paid and Grassroots Campaign for “Just Saying No” to Jobs and Middle Class Tax Cuts
By THE DEMOCRATIC CONGRESSIONAL CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE
The DCCC has launched a paid and grassroots ad campaign against Representative Charlie Dent and five of his fellow Party of No Republicans for just saying no to middle class tax cuts and saving or creating 143,000 Pennsylvania jobs through President Obama’s economic recovery act.
“We are holding Representative Charlie Dent accountable for just saying no to President Obama’s recovery act that creates or saves 143,000 Pennsylvania jobs, cuts taxes for middle class families, and funds critical projects,” said Shripal Shah, Northeastern Regional Press Secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “In these tough times, Pennsylvania’s middle class families who are worried about their future want action in the form of more jobs and lower taxes, not Representative Dent’s ‘just say no’ obstruction.”
The radio ads and automated phone calls targeting Representative Charlie Dent will begin today and run for a week.
The text of the radio ads targeting Representative Dent follows:
Did you know Congressman Dent opposed an $800 tax cut for couples? Tell him Pennsylvania first.

The text of the automated call targeting Representative Dent follows:
I’m calling on behalf of the DCCC to tell you how disappointed I am in Congressman Charlie Dent. He keeps voting “no” on everything. Congressman Dent voted against the economic recovery plan, which is at work now to create or save 143,000 Pennsylvania jobs. Dent also voted “no” on extending unemployment benefits for almost 7,000 families in Lehigh County and even voted against transportation projects that mean good jobs right here – like repairing Main Street in Whitehall and eleven bridges in the Lehigh Valley. I hope you’ll join me in calling Congressman Dent to tell him to stop voting “no,” to stop standing in the way of getting the economy moving again.
