Aichele makes Lt. Gov. run official

carolaichele11 200x300 Aichele makes Lt. Gov. run officialChester County Commissioner Carol Aichele has officially joined the race for lieutenant governor, her campaign announced today. The Republican had already effectively said she would run earlier this month,.

She likely faces a crowded primary: Over a dozen Pennsylvania Republicans have expressed interest in running for lieutenant governor.

To judge by Aichele’s announcement, fiscal responsibility will be a centerpiece of her campaign. “We must focus on creating jobs, fixing our economy and providing relief to families and businesses struggling with high taxes,” Aichele said in the announcement. “Pennsylvania needs a new beginning.”

Aichele’s campaign will hold its first fundraising event tonight in King of Prussia, with former state Supreme Court Justice Sandra Schultz Newman hosting. Aichele is currently serving in her second term on the Chester County Board of Comissioners.
