Thoughts on Sotomayor

It was clear Arlen Specter would support the nomination of Sotomayor. In a sense, I consider this almost his final passage to the Democratic Party, instantly supporting a nominee. It’s something he hasn’t done in the past.

One thing that has been stuck on my mind is Bob Casey and Supreme Court nominations. I don’t believe he was ever in the Senate for one, so I wonder how he will approach the Abortion issue. In the end, I’m 99 percent sure he’ll vote yes for confirmation, but I wonder what his approach is at this point? His statement praises her and gives the cliche thoughts on how I’ll carefully review, but I wonder how the Pro-life Democrats (specifically Casey and Nelson) will at least perceive a liberal nominee.
