Sestak on Specter’s endorsements: No king-makers in America

Congressman Joe Sestak (D-7) made an appearance on Fox News yesterday in which he stated that a run for Senate is very likely.

“I’m very much leaning towards it,” he said

He also responded to questions about President Obama, Gov. Ed Rendell, and Vice President Joe Biden, and their assumed endorsements of Arlen Specter. “There’s no kings in America, and certainly no king makers,” he said, repeating a talking point he’s been using increasingly often.

The clip circulated online just as a survey sponsored by Progressive Change Campaign Committee reported that 86 percent of respondents would vote to draft Sestak into a race against Specter.

The high support of Sestak could be due to the fact that some Democrats are frustrated by Specter’s elite endorsements, as they see the Obama, Biden, and Rendell’s endorsements as attempts to force other candidates out. It’s also skewed as a self-selecting survey on a progressive Web site.

A fund has been set up on ActBlue, the liberal fund raising network. The fund is designed to encourage Sestak to run for Senate and can be found here.
