Remembering the last time Doherty thought about Congress

In looking into speculation that Scranton Mayor Chris Doherty may run for higher office, I stumbled upon a two-year-old post by my favorite Northeastern Pa. blogger, Gort42.

In July 2007, Gort42 wrote of an e-mail he got implying that Doherty was preparing a run against Congressman Paul Kanjorski (D-11). It was mostly speculation that didn’t pan out, but it’s a good reminder that Doherty has had bigger ambitions for sometime.
