2009 MontCo judges
I won Science Fair and am presenting my project on ballot order effects next week in State College. Watch the 2009 Montgomery County judicial primaries while I’m gone. My bet is that you will see the first candidate getting the most votes, and that it will almost follow suit down the ballot. The GOP and Dems both have their endorsed slates stuck at the bottom. Too bad for them.

By JOE TORSELLA FOR SENATE
Dear Supporter,
As you know, earlier this year I decided to run for the United States Senate from Pennsylvania. I thought we needed a Democratic Senator who would champion new ideas and new solutions to old problems.
But as we’ve all learned, campaigns can be unpredictable.

Last month, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned legislation that banned gambling industry insiders from making campaign contributions. The ruling addressed a semantic flaw in the legislation that had the effect of only excluding “large” contributions from being made, thereby making a complete ban untenable.
The ruling comes at a time when Philadelphians are fighting the city and the state to prevent the installation of two casinos. The fierce debate has mobilized people from all levels…

Full StoryRepublican state Senate budget is just the medicine our party needs
Based on the overwhelmingly positive feedback we have received related to the passage of the Republican state Senate’s budget, many Pennsylvanians understand and appreciate the Republican efforts to promote a fiscally responsible spending plan during these troubling economic times. While many Democrats, including Gov. Ed Rendell, have indigestion over the fact that the Senate plan calls for no new or increased taxes and cuts spending by just over 1 percent from the current year’s budget,…
