More Americans pro-life than ever?

According to a recent Gallup poll, there are now more Americans who are pro-life than pro-choice for the first time since they’ve been tracking.

Additionally, Gallup states that self-identified Republicans are more pro-life before, as are self-identified Christians.

It is possible that, through his abortion policies, Obama has pushed the public’s understanding of what it means to be “pro-choice” slightly to the left, politically. While Democrats may support that, as they generally support everything Obama is doing as president, it may be driving others in the opposite direction.

It is difficult to figure out what this data means. But if it is true, perhaps the counter-effects of popularity are in full effect and 2010 could be a bumpy ride for the Dems.
