Lentz ready to give Congress a go
State Representative Bryan Lentz (D-Delaware) is preparing a likely run for Congress, more than three years after he bowed out of a Congressional primary in favor of Congressman Joe Sestak (D-7).
Sestak is now seen as likely to run for Senate. And while Lentz had initially said he would wait for a formal announcement from Sestak before declaring his candidacy for Congress, the Iraq veteran and second-term lawmaker told Roll Call that Sestak’s recent public statements were enough for him.
“I’m going to take the next week or so and form a top-notch finance committee with the bigger political fundraisers and contributors from Delaware County and the region, and shortly thereafter file the papers,” Lentz said.
Lentz has been saying for weeks that he would run if Sestak vacated his 7th District Seat. Numerous Republicans are rumored to by considering the race, including former U.S. Attorney Pat Meehan.

Yeah, when Rendell played “king maker” for Sestak.
Glad to see Lentz finally getting his turn at bat.

I really think we ought to find an outsider candidate on the Republican side.
I personally do not think Pat Meehan wants to run for this seat.
