Ed Schultz boosts Murphy for Senate?

MSNBC’s Ed Schultz just said on TV that he’s hearing labor officials want Congressman Patrick Murphy (D-8) to get into the Senate race.

“Democrats need to be loving this,” Schultz said. “There’s nothing better than competition. This is going to make Arlen Specter the Democrat that everybody wants him to be.”

Don’t count on it Ed. After spending much of his campaign cash in a late-season push last year, Murphy was already quieting down about the Senate race before Specter switched parties. Since then, he’s been stone silent about it.

Then again… anything can happen.
